Chapter 3 - WOVEN

The krama is scarf-like piece of headgear that is so quintessentially Cambodian it could be called the Khmer coat of arms. We see it made and we see it used in a hundred ways, but we also learn of its dual nature. Cambodian filmmaker, Rithy Panh, leads us into the dark story of how it was deployed in Khmer Rouge times as an instrument of torture -- and leads us out again to where the krama is restored to its affirming place in Cambodian life.
